    Cracks, appearing in structures bring a lot of troubles: structure's demolition, water penetration through cracks and so on. Cracks repairs are always a difficult task. The existing methods of crack removal are not always effective.

    We suggest that this problem be solved with the help of new materials and new methods.

        Crack repairs - main indications:

  • the first thing to do is to find out the motive of crack appearing - sat-downs, moves because of thermal oscillations, opening of cold sew etc.

  • Having found the motive we can get down to repairing.

  • Injecting - one of the most effective repair methods of both dry and water-containing cracks. In case of dry cracks epoxide compositions without thinners are used, which when filling crack's emptiness don not allow sat-downs at hardening, forming a secure sew (more secure than concrete and stone), that joins the structure reliably. In case of wet cracks polyurethane tars and acrylic gels are used. This method allows to removing water licks from inside the structure after filling reliably the crack's emptiness with widening material to all depth, finishing the crack afterwards according the standard methods. The materials used are not washed away by water, they do not get rotten and destructed during crack moves (opening and tightening).

  • The additional armoring - is used when there are many cracks on walls, support columns and beams. As armored material, hydrogen tissues (canvasses and lamels) are used with special epoxide compositions. These materials have elasticity module and firm data surpassing steel essentially but they are light and anticorrosive at the same time. They may be hidden under structure's usual working. They diminish deformations under pressure by 2 - 2,5 times (for example, beam's bending). The application of these materials is especially effective during repairs of supports, iron-concrete piping or brick piping instead of traditional iron-concrete shirts and belts whose putting is very hard in executing and considerably enhances the structure's weight as a whole, installation of pipe seizers, as they form one and the same thing with the structure being an additional armoring (seizers made of steel require a constant correction because of irreversible widening caused by temperature).

  • The repairs like this have been completed on many renewed builds and those erected of late in Dnepropetrovsk. It is clear from our experience, that the removal of cracks is possible with opening's width from o,1 mm up to 500 mm deep.
